This research encompasses my journey:
from the sensual waters of the photographic darkroom…
to Jungs notions of water as reflecting the depths of the unconscious mind.
Developing photographs in relationship with lakes and oceans in the works “Suddenly the darkness turned to water”(2007-2015) and “Rituals for visual listening” (2018).
Performing “Hydrogen, Oxygen and that slippery stuff”(2019), a series of images made from water lilies secretly gathered from Hampstead women’s pond performed alongside a poetic text foregrounding the agency of water via autobiographical encounter.
Embodying hydrofeminist research in water in Iceland with Berglind Hreidarsdotttir, through Arts Territory Exchange (2018-2022) and later independently in Budapest (2023-) informed by Astrida Neimanis' writing.
Collaborating with Eliza Bennett through “Cast your line: photographing image-divining”, taking her concept of the landlocked mermaid and my sensual materialities into a public-facing workshop (2023).
Presently connecting to my simultaneous role as a Healer, exploring the power of water for healing intergenerational trauma.
