Granted a place on an initial in-person workshop ‘Gut Feelings: Voicing the Visceral’ we worked as a group to consider the stomach, brain, digestion, microbiome and bodily function. Co-led by Fiona Glen and Esme Foggis, we came together to create ‘The Digest Reader’ a publication printed and presented through Thameside Arts and Culture Office (TACO!) You can read more here
Contributing artists and writers to The Reader include: myself, Beth Fox, Christy Thynne, Esme Boggis, Fiona Glen, James Ireland, Judith Walker, Krystle Patel, Lara Baksu, Mandy Wax, Seth Guy, Sinéad Brady, Tabby Gammer.

Text:
When we sat together,
we allowed room,
slip-sliding into those glistening spaces
in-between.
Viscera-mind meeting
inner-organ landscape.
When we spoke,
we spoke of those noises,
erupting, bubbling, bursting,
unknown planets
colliding,
inside
expressed to the outside,
through our guts.
When we digested ideas
as well as food,
I recalled my life as a psychic,
that quickening arising
Stomach-solar-plexus-beginning
the truth of clear-knowing,
tummies beaming out butterflies.
When we talked,
we talked of our collective gurglings,
apologising in public for private workings;
A spilling out amongst-and-on-top-of,
even mistaking your bodily sounds,
for mine.
